Washington Council of Lawyers’ Brown-Bag Series: Perspectives on Poverty Law from the Bench

Although we can’t offer public-interest summer interns fancy meals or swanky entertainment, we can invite them to a new lunchtime speaker series on critical issues affecting public-interest lawyers. (And we’ll even throw in dessert and beverages.)
The first in our brown-bag series is entitled Perspectives on Poverty Law from the Bench. It features a trio of DC judges (Todd E. Edelman, Jennifer A. Di Toro, and Juliet McKenna), who will discuss the impact of poverty on the cases they hear, and how pro bono and public-interest attorneys make a difference in the administration of justice in the District of Columbia.
This free event takes place from noon to 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 27, at Jones Day (300 New Jersey Avenue, NW). You can RSVP here.
The second event in the WCL brown-bag series is on July 17th, and will present a case study on impact litigation and advocacy. Mark your calendars!
