Children placed in immigration court removal proceedings most often face court alone – without the help of a lawyer. Many of these children have been victims of abuse, abandonment, neglect, human trafficking or persecution—but need a lawyer to help them present their case in court to obtain relief from deportation and to navigate the complexities of the U.S. legal system. KIND’s mission is to find pro bono counsel for these children.
