NALP/PSJD Publications Coordinator – We are seeking a law or graduate student to work full-time as its PSJD Summer Publications Coordinator, editing and producing our Comprehensive Fellowship Guide during the summer of 2016.  The term of the employment period is approximately 10 weeks.  The position is ideal for a law or graduate student who has editing experience and is interested in public interest law and/or nonprofit administration.  The Publications Coordinator serves as an integral part of the PSJD team.

The Texas Riogrande Legal Aid (TRLA) is seeking a clinic attorney to develop and implement systems for assisted pro se and pro bono clinics throughout the TRLA service area. This week’s JOTW is….my own! Every year, NALP hires a recent law graduate to help strengthen PSJD’s services. Every Fellow is different, but we all try to bring a job-seeker’s perspective to the task of maintaining and improving PSJD. There are many aspects to this job, and anyone with ideas for improving the way we develop our content, communicate with our users, or educate students about career development should consider applying. The PSJD Fellowship provides a wonderful opportunity for a public-interest minded law graduate who also has an interest in nonprofit administration and technology.

Entry Level Attorney Position alert! The Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS) is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join their Civil Legal Services Division (CLS). The CLS represents PDS clients in a wide range of civil matters that are collateral or ancillary to the clients’ criminal or delinquency representation (e.g. housing, special education and related school disciplinary matters, civil protection orders, contempt proceedings, child support, abuse and neglect proceedings, civil forfeiture matters, public benefits, and employment). These attorneys generally handle civil litigation in both judicial and administrative forums.

Attention Students! The Center for Children’s Law and Policy is seeking first and second year law student applicants for its 2016 summer internship program. CCLP is a public interest law and policy organization focused on reform of juvenile justice and other systems that affect troubled and at-risk children, and protection of the rights of children in those systems. Based in Washington, DC, the Center’s staff work with federal, state, and local officials throughout the country on a range of issues that include reducing the unnecessary incarceration of youth, promoting racial and ethnic justice, and eliminating dangerous and inhumane conditions in facilities that house children.

The Law Students for Reproductive Justice’s (LSRJ) National Office in Oakland, CA is seeking interns for a 10 week paid summer program running from mid-June to mid-August. LSRJ is a national nonprofit network of law students and lawyers. The Disability Rights Division of the Human Rights Watch is seeking highly qualified applications for the position of Disability Rights Researcher/Advocate. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing research and advocacy strategies on the human rights of persons with disabilities. The position will ideally be based in HRW’s New York Office and will report to the Director of the Disability Rights Division.
