Job o’ the Day: 2-Year Staff Attorney Fellowship with Appellate Advocates in New York City

Interested in indigent defense? Appellate Advocates, a nonprofit public interest legal organization based in NYC, is seeking attorneys for 2-year fellowships:

Attorneys would brief and argue appeals, as well as have the opportunity to represent clients in other post-conviction proceedings, within an office committed to providing the highest quality of representation. Fellowships would begin in the summer or early fall of 2013.

Applicants must have graduated from law school in June of 2012 or earlier and must be admitted or pending admission in New York. They should have at least one year of criminal appellate, clerkship, or comparable experience. Strong analytical, research, organizational, and writing skills are a must, as is a strong commitment to criminal defense and the poor. Trial court or immigration law experience, although not required, is a plus.
